We've put together a list of 10 fascinating facts about sex and relationships in this issue on our Randy Fox Blog. You learn something new every day!

1) We’ve all felt the famous, “butterflies in the stomach” phenomenon at some time or another during our lives, but research shows us that what we are really experiencing is caused by adrenaline, which floods our bodies during flight-or-fight response situations.

2) Vibrators were originally invented in the 19th century as a way to reduce "hysteria." The idea of hysteria being a psychological disorder is no longer considered science, but luckily, vibrators have remained around for our personal pleasure since!

3) It’s all about the O! The average female orgasm lasts about 20 seconds, whilst the average male orgasm lasts only 6 seconds.

4) Orgasms are great for our health! Research has found that regular orgasms can lower the risk of heart disease, stroke, certain types of cancer and even depression.

5) Sexercise! Studies have shown that men burn between 150-200 calories on average during sex. On the other hand, women only burn between 50-100 calories per steamy session.

6) Whilst many say chocolate can be an excellent aphrodisiac, apparently the smell of pumpkin can help encourage an erection by helping increase the blood flow to the penis.

7) Orgasms can’t be voluntarily stopped once the process has started because they are the way our body responds to an event. This is the same for a sneeze!

8) Nipple induced orgasms exist! A small percentage of women have reported orgasm solely from nipple and breast stimulation.

9) Studies have shown that frequent male ejaculation (at least once a day) may improve a man’s sperm quality, reduce DNA damage to sperm, and also increase fertility.

10) Rough estimates place the number at approximately 100 million acts of sexual intercourse each day across the globe!
